Hello Thursday!

Good morning everyone!

The sun is shining again, so make the most of the fresh air and enjoying your outside spaces!

I am really enjoying keeping in touch via Tapestry. Spread the word to other families in Learners Class that haven’t yet logged on but would love it too! Even just to watch the bedtime story slot!

Keep busy today and if you would like a task, how about learning some times tables today (only 2’s, 5’s or 10’s) Can you remember we used clapping to help us in class?

Keep me updated with what you are doing through Tapestry, even just to say hello!

I will continue to be ring families regularly. My number will come up as “withheld”. Looking forward to speaking to you all soon!

Keep smiling!

Mrs Brown

Good Morning 26th March 2020

Good Morning to you all. I hope that you enjoyed our stories yesterday. A new story will be on later today.

The sun is shining so I am sure that you will all want to take the opportunity to be outside looking for signs of spring and taking care of the worms.

Here is a link to one of our favourite songs if you would like a little reminder. It is Micheal Rosen singing,” Threw It Out The Window…” Sing while you are digging.

This link will take you to a guide to help you identify signs of spring.

If you are spending time inside today you could have a look around your house to find any clocks. I had fun yesterday taking pictures of all of mine. You can send me pictures on Tapestry.

Have a play around with some fun online timers and let me know what you can do in 1 minute.

Have fun and stay safe.

Sumdog Saga

Good afternoon Discoverers,

After spending some time outside this morning, in the beautiful sunshine, I thought I would take a break and play some games on Sumdog. I hope you’re all proud of me, as I only need seven more coins before I am moved from a ‘common rat’ to my next animal rank, yippee!

I wondered if any of you would like to join me in some games? Tomorrow morning (Thursday 26th March) at 9:00am,  I am going to play cake monsters. Simply join the game yourself at this time and we can battle against each other 🙂

Thank you to those of you who have given me gifts, as I build my coins I will be giving gifts to those of you who are also playing on Sumdog.

Happy gaming all,

Mrs Taylor

What a lovely day!

What about using your science knowledge to carry out another heart rate investigation after exercise.  You could maybe find the difference in heart rates for all members of your family after doing the same amount of exercise.  Remember to make it ‘fair’ to give you the best results.

For those of you who would like something different to Joe Wicks, here are some other ideas to keep you active: http://www.imovement.com are the activities we tried whilst we were still in school; Oti Mabuse, from Strictly, is also doing a dance class for those dancers amongst us https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Btxws8qvYAA

It has been lovely hearing what you have all being doing so far and I will continue to be in contact with you and your families over the coming days.  Remember to think about your 3 week challenge – once I know what everyone is doing I will post them here so you can see what everyone has challenged themselves with.

Enjoy the sunshine and stay safe.

Good Morning! It’s a lovely sunny day to raise our spirits.

It’s a lovely day for some outdoor learning and I’d like to share some Forest School ideas with you.

  • Make some pictures in the garden using twigs, leaves, stones and mud. These could be family portraits or pets.
  • You could create your own garden clock making numbers from stones and using twigs for the hands.
  • Build a small den for a toy animal or doll. You could even test that it’s waterproof!

Indoor activities:

  • Make a watch from paper or a clock face to go on a box.
  • Create some art work to display in your windows to help cheer people up. Perhaps a rainbow, sunflower or hearts.

I would like to recommend the website San Diego Zoo Kids. We have used this in school and it has lots of information on all the animals, videos and live cams, games, activities and stories.

Hope you have a happy day!

Mrs Roe

Keeping Busy at Home

Hi Discoverers,

I hope you are keeping busy at home, with some fun things to do.

I have put lots of wool in the chest, which is outside of the school entrance. Please help yourself to this, baring in mind that others may want some too. With this wool you can make pom poms: you can make animals out of them, or decorate the rooms in your house. I have found the video below which should help you:

There are also plenty of other things in the chest, such as skipping ropes, so that you can keep busy outside, and lots of material if you would like to make dens, or make things out of it.

There continues to be plenty of pictures to colour in, and lots of different pens to use.

Here is the link to Joe Wicks’ PE, if you would like to complete this at home:

I will keep in touch with you through this blog,  speak soon, Mrs taylor.

Morning Leaders

I hope lots of you joined me with Joe Wicks this morning – 20 different exercises in 20 minutes – well done everyone!  My personal favourite was the ice skater.  Same time tomorrow if you didn’t manage to join us today.

You will probably have heard that we now have at least 3 weeks in our homes – in those 3 weeks I would like you all to set yourself a challenge.  You all know that I showed you a ukulele in the class a little while ago with the promise that I was going to teach myself so we can learn as a class together.  That is going to be my challenge over the next 3 weeks.  Your challenge could be anything from learning something new to completing something every day for those 3 weeks.

I will be in touch with your families over the course of the week and would love to find out what your challenges are.

Happy Tuesday!

Good morning everyone!

The sun is shining today, which is lovely!

Tapestry is up and running for Learners Class. Some of you have already been adding photos and videos or just posting a quick hello! It is a wonderful way of keeping in touch! This morning on Tapestry I have posted a daily timetable that you might want to use or adapt to suit your routine! It is only a suggestion and there to help you if you need it! I know I like a daily routine!

You could create your own timetable and decorate it to make it colourful!

I will be contacting families through the week by telephone to make sure everyone is ok!

Keep in touch Learners (via Tapestry, the Website or contacting School) and please let me know if there is anything I can help you with and I will do my best to do so!

Keep smiling!

Mrs Brown
